Trey Giordano

VP, IT Engineering & Operations

Trey Giordano oversees STSG’s operations and consulting and managed services practices. A veteran of the IT industry, Mr. Giordano brings nearly three decades of enterprise IT systems administration, engineering, and management experience to the firm.

A computer enthusiast from a young age, Trey began his professional IT career during the dot-com bubble, working for a regional Internet service provider in the northeast Florida area. At the company, he administered Windows and Linux-based Web hosting and email servers, data center infrastructure, and point-of-presence dial-in systems. Mr. Giordano would go on to serve on the technical staff at what was, at that time, one of the largest churches in the nation. In this role, he immersed himself in the fundamentals of broadcast engineering and in maintaining the production equipment and audio and video editing systems that powered the church’s live television and radio broadcasts. Trey would eventually supervise the control room and broadcast operations and provide training and support to a production team of nearly 20 people.

In the 2010s, Trey relocated to Texas where he would lead the IT operations at a large church and private school in Austin as the Director of Technical Services before joining the administration of Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio as Director of Data Systems. At the school district, Trey helped develop educational classroom technology systems across multiple K-12 campuses, introduced a 1:1 classroom tablet program, managed the school district’s database systems, and oversaw the school’s audio-visual team.

Pursuing a desire to focus on two particular areas of interest, data center virtualization and network routing and switching, Trey moved to Everise, a business process outsourcing firm and contact center. In the role of Network Engineer, he specialized in building and administering hyper-converged server environments, multi-site networks and data centers for the company. Mr. Giordano would then move on to Cal-Tex Protective Coatings, a leading manufacturer of automotive appearance protection products, where he would serve in multiple roles, including Senior Network Engineer and IT Manager. Trey was instrumental in architecting and managing the company’s large-scale migration of application, database, and infrastructure servers and storage systems from on-premises data centers into the Microsoft Azure cloud.

After CalTex was acquired by Spectrum Automotive Holdings, Trey was appointed to a leadership role within the company’s national IT organization, overseeing the daily operations of the IT Architecture Group and managing a team of network engineers and systems administrators. Mr. Giordano’s team was instrumental in combining and managing the back-end IT infrastructure across more than 30 of Spectrum’s member companies.

Trey is a graduate of Bryan College in Dayton, TN and holds a number of industry recognitions, including certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware. Trey is a father to school-aged children, and he enjoys travel, exploring, and experimenting with technology of all kinds during his free time.
