Josh Thomas
VP, Sales & Marketing
Josh B. Thomas co-founded Superior TurnKey Solutions Group, Inc. in 2007 with a passion to help meet the IT needs of small and medium businesses through both simple and complex solutions alike. Josh’s focus has always revolved around addressing the unique business challenges SMBs face while simultaneously working within budget constraints, meeting ROI objectives, and providing necessary ongoing support and training.
As a veteran in the IT industry for more than four decades, Mr. Thomas maintains a deep understanding of the enterprise technology landscape. He maintains a rich sales portfolio within the IT sales realm and has attended numerous Million Dollar sales clubs throughout his time in the industry.
In the early 1990s, Josh sold large-scale solutions for Data General Corporation to the healthcare industry in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and then worked to secure new accounts and re-establish business with non-productive accounts for that company. After a move to Dallas with Data General, Josh was an early promoter of open server systems, selling both Microsoft and UNIX-based platforms, Clarion storage solutions, as well as support and services. During his tenure, Mr. Thomas was instrumental in growing the yearly Texas market sales from the ground up to an annual revenue stream of $2.5M.
After Data General, Mr. Thomas was recruited by Network Computing Devices as a regional sales manager where he sold more than $10M per year in newly-emerging Citrix and thin client technologies to clients in the Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana markets. Josh was then installed as Director, and subsequently, Vice President of Sales for Vector in Houston, TX where he was responsible for more than $30M per year in sales. After his tenure at Vector, Josh was responsible for outsourced support services to Dell enterprise customers for Perot Systems, until that firm was acquired by Dell outright.
Since starting STSG, Josh has focused on building the company into a premier value-added IT reseller and consulting firm. Branching out from an early portfolio of Dell, Microsoft, VMware and Citrix, the company now provides products, professional services and managed services across five major practices: Hybrid Cloud and On-Premises Data Infrastructure, End User Computing, Security and Compliance, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, and Unified Communications and Contact Center. The company has purposefully remained small and nimble, able to efficiently meet the changing needs of small and medium businesses with a close, purpose-driven team of full-time staff and industry-veteran consultants.
Mr. Thomas is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering. He has been married to his wife, Laurie, for more than 45 years and has a grown daughter and three grandchildren. He is an avid swimmer, enjoys spending time with his family, travels in his spare time, and engages in home improvement projects. He is also an active member and volunteer at his local church.
